Fault Description
Engine cooling system, reduced power operation: coolant pump exceeds temperature limit.
Fault Cause Analysis
The ECU continuously monitors the internal control system temperature of the coolant pump. When the internal control system temperature is too high, this fault is recorded.
Because coolant pump over-temperature protection. This fault is mostly intermittent, and in general, clearing the code with the diagnostic tool will resolve the issue without further intervention.
Fault Troubleshooting Method (in sequence)
- Stop the engine.
- Wait 30 minutes, then restart.
- Clear the fault code.
- If the fault does not reappear within 1 hour, no further action is required.
- If the over-temperature fault occurs again, remove the coolant pump and check:
- Whether the impeller is stuck
- Whether the coolant has deteriorated or is contaminated
If abnormalities are found, eliminate them and check whether the problem is resolved.
- Replace the coolant pump with the same model.
